Overview: AZ3 is seeking a skilled and safety-oriented Fiber Jetting Technician to join our telecom division. This role involves the use of compressed air jetting systems to install fiber optic cables through microducts in a variety of underground and aerial environments.
Responsibilities:
- Operate air jetting machines (e.g., Plumettaz, Fremco) to install fiber cables through microducts
- Perform site prep, conduit inspection, and route testing before jetting
- Maintain optimal pressure and tension during fiber installation to prevent damage
- Troubleshoot blockages, kinks, or conduit issues during jetting operations
- Document cable lengths, duct assignments, and installation performance data
- Coordinate with team leads, construction crews, and splicing technicians
- Conduct daily maintenance and inspection of jetting equipment
- Adhere to all safety and traffic control protocols while working in field environments
Requirements:
- 3+ year of experience operating fiber jetting or blowing equipment
- Familiar with microduct installation practices and cable protection standards
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors and in underground environments
- Valid driver’s license; Class DZ or AZ is a strong asset
- WHMIS, Confined Space Entry, and First Aid are assets
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.40-$20.00 per hour
