Job Title: Fiber Drop Installer Location: Manitoba Job Type: Full-Time
Overview: AZ3 is seeking a dedicated and experienced Fiber Drop Installer to perform last-mile fiber installations in residential and small business environments. This role includes routing fiber from distribution points to customer premises, ensuring clean and secure cable placements indoors and outdoors.
Responsibilities:
- Perform FTTH and fiber drop installations from handholes, pedestals, or aerial terminals to the customer’s premises
- Route and secure fiber cables inside homes, buildings, or wall boxes
- Use hand tools to drill access points, mount boxes, and connect fiber jumpers
- Terminate and connect fiber using appropriate connectors or patch cords
- Test fiber signal strength using power meters or light source tools
- Complete installation checklists, photos, and documentation
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and tenants when accessing units
- Ensure fiber routing meets aesthetic, safety, and building code standards
Requirements:
- 2+ year of experience with fiber drop or FTTH installations
- Comfortable working with hand tools and small fiber connectors
- Familiar with aerial and underground drop installation methods
- Ability to work at heights (ladders or poles) and in crawlspaces
- Strong attention to detail and customer service attitude
- Valid driver’s license; field mobility required
- WHMIS, Working at Heights, or Fiber Safety training is an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
