Job Overview
The Fiber Technician plays a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is capable of working with various telecommunication technologies and network infrastructures. The Fiber Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all fiber optic systems are functioning optimally and efficiently to support the needs of our clients. This position requires experience in pole transfers as this is the primary scope of work
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables and associated equipment.
- Operate bucket trucks and forklifts safely to access elevated work areas.
- Complete Pole transfers
- Collaborate with team members to execute WAN (Wide Area Network) installations and upgrades.
- Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of installations and repairs.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating bucket trucks and forklifts.
- Proficiency in completing Pole transfer
- Strong electrical experience with a focus on telecommunication systems.
- Familiarity with WAN technologies and low voltage systems.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure components and their functionalities.
- Basic welding skills are preferred for certain installation tasks.
- Experience in telephony systems is a plus, enhancing overall service delivery capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 60 per week
