Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fiber Technician to join our team. The Fiber Technician will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks. This position requires a strong understanding of network infrastructure and the ability to work with various telecommunications equipment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling systems.
- Operate bucket trucks for aerial installations and repairs.
- Conduct splicing of fiber optic cables to ensure optimal connectivity.
- Perform testing and certification of fiber optic networks using specialized equipment.
- Collaborate with other technicians to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Assist in the installation of low voltage systems related to telecommunications.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure principles and practices.
- Experience with telecommunication systems and equipment.
- Proficient in bucket truck operation for aerial work.
- Familiarity with telephone systems and low voltage installations.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely in various environments.
- Basic welding skills for necessary repairs or installations.
- Understanding of electrical systems as they relate to fiber optics.
- Knowledge of Wide Area Network (WAN) configurations and troubleshooting.

Pay: $27.00-$45.00 per hour
