Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and customer service, with experience in food preparation and a strong understanding of the hospitality industry. As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring our cafe operates smoothly while providing exceptional service to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and cooking, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
- Operate the POS system efficiently for cash handling and customer transactions.
- Supervise and train new staff members, fostering a positive team environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with patrons, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Support management in daily operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
- Uphold high standards of hospitality, ensuring that all guests have a pleasant dining experience.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant management.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations. FOOD SAFE required.
- Experience with cash handling and operating POS systems.
- Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Kitchen experience is essential; barista experience is an advantage.
- A background in the food industry or hotel experience is desirable.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $15.14-$18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
