Role Summary
Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, and working with the Head Chef, you will be responsible for the management of all aspects of the Restaurant Cafe, executing flawless dining experiences for our guests. As you supervise the daily cafe operations, you will consistently ensure that all team members deliver professional, friendly and engaging service. Supporting and assisting the Restaurant Manager to create a unique working environment.
Key Accountabilities
- Recruiting, training, and supervising café staff.
- Preparing weekly work schedules for staff and finding suitable replacements in cases of staff absence.
- Ensuring that all café expenses are within budget and identifying ways to decrease operational costs.
- Receiving delivered café supplies and verifying that the correct items and quantities have been delivered.
- Taking inventory of café supplies and ordering new stock as needed.
- Resolving customer complaints regarding food quality and customer service.
- Suggesting new menu items based on customers' preferences and feedback.
- Identifying strategies to retain and attract customers.
- Hands-on day-to-day operations
- Assist with marketing, sales and promotions
- Organizing campaigns and developing strategies
- Ensure the highest quality products and customer service

- Performs other duties as assigned and directed by the Restaurant Manager.
- Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 year Café/Barista in a leadership role
- Food Safe Level I Certificate
- Serving it Right Certificate
- Record of maintaining high standards in food quality, guest satisfaction, restaurant cleanliness and sanitation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Outstanding leadership, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the capacity to develop and motivate staff to achieve challenging goals
- Experience with Google Workspace (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides) will be considered an asset
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
