You will collaborate with vendors to maintain cost-effective operations while ensuring menu items meet customer expectations and contribute to profitability.
Monetary Duties: You’ll handle approval of timesheets and oversee payroll, ensuring accurate hours and overtime approval. A key part of this role is to ensure that employee work hours are used efficiently.
Staff Scheduling: As a cafe supervisor, you will be responsible for scheduling staff to ensure proper coverage, maintaining a balance between customer demand and managing labor costs. You’ll need to be adaptable and may be required to step into different roles when there are staffing shortages or during busy periods.
Meeting Cafe Targets: You will work closely with your team to meet tangible cafe targets, aligned with the overall goals of the business.
Conflict Resolution: As a supervisor, you’ll act as a mediator when conflicts arise, whether between team members or when handling difficult customers. The ability to stay impartial and resolve issues calmly is essential to maintaining a positive and professional environment.
Inventory Management: You’ll oversee stock levels, making sure there’s enough inventory to meet customer demand without leading to waste. Maintaining proper storage for health and safety reasons and reducing wastage will be key focuses.
