About the Opportunity
The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and support to the Ministry of Skills Training, Employment, and Post-Secondary. They are the first point of contact for prospective and existing clients, providing the initial intake assessment to determine appropriate next steps including referrals to TCCs, Employment Coordinators, other MNBC ministries and/or external programs. This includes receiving and screening applications for funding and ensuring completion, accuracy and eligibility. The Assistants manages calendars, makes travel arrangements, handles inquiries from MNBC Citizens, coordinates internal and external meetings, manages meeting logistics, prepares meeting materials, records minutes, and tracks and follows-up on related action items as required. This role also involves organizing sensitive correspondence, maintaining filing systems, processing mailouts for projects, and performing various administrative tasks like photocopying, scanning, and record-keeping while ensuring confidentiality. The Assistants provide great customer service and timely response to citizen inquiries. Actively participate as a critical member of the Ministry of Employment and Skills Training team to create solutions that advance the successful, efficient, and effective delivery of MNBC’s Ministry initiatives.
