The Bloor-Yonge Capacity Improvements Project is a significant undertaking by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) to expand and modernize Bloor-Yonge station – Canada’s busiest subway hub. This initiative is focused on meeting both current and future ridership needs by improving the station’s efficiency, capacity, and accessibility.
The Kenaidan Murphy Joint Venture (KMJV) is committed to transforming the station to enable faster, more reliable, and more comfortable travel throughout the Greater Toronto Area. The project will deliver upgraded facilities, contributing to a safer, cleaner, and higher-capacity subway system for passengers.

Health & Safety Advisor:
The Health & Safety Advisor supports and promotes a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting inspections, and guiding workers on safe practices.
How will you contribute to the team? :
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the project Health & Safety Program in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and all applicable regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits to ensure compliance with safety requirements and project-specific procedures.
- Provide coaching, training, and guidance to site personnel, subcontractors, and visitors on safe work practices and hazard prevention.
- Participate in incident investigations, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure all high-risk activities are planned and executed with safety as the top priority.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation, records, and reports.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the project, encouraging participation and engagement at all levels.
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Health & Safety Advisor, preferably within rail, transit, heavy civil, or infrastructure construction projects.
- Working knowledge of Ontario OHSA, Construction Regulations, and other applicable legislation.
- CRSP, CHSC, NCSO, or other recognized health and safety designation is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Proficient in MS Office and safety management software tools.
