We’re looking for a People, Culture & Safety Coordinator to play a vital role in supporting our teams across multiple construction sites in Nova Scotia. This position blends human resources, organizational culture, and workplace safety making it an ideal opportunity for someone who is people-focused, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating great work environments.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be the go-to support for our site teams, helping to ensure smooth operations, engaged employees, and a safe work environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Recruitment & Onboarding – Assist with job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and delivering engaging onboarding experiences.
- Employee Support – Maintain accurate employee records, coordinate training and development, and help foster a positive work culture.
- Safety Leadership – Support safety program implementation, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Return-to-Work Coordination – Manage the process for employees returning from leave to ensure a smooth and safe transition.
- Engagement & Culture – Help plan team events, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Safety Certification such as NCSO, CSTS, or CRST considered an asset.
- Previous experience in HR, safety, or a combined role.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communicator with ability to build trust and meaningful connections with people at all levels.
- Comfort with HRIS and Safety Management Systems as well as Microsoft Office 365
- A proactive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset.
