We’re seeking an Accounting Supervisor / Team Leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, balances hands-on accounting responsibilities with supervisory oversight, and contributes to continuous improvement across the finance function.
About the role:
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Supervisor / Team Leader is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing and supporting month-end and year-end processes, managing regulatory filings, and maintaining accurate financial records. In addition to technical accounting responsibilities such as reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting, this role supervises the Accounts Receivable team, providing coaching, guidance, and leadership to ensure operational and team success.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany transactions.
- Maintain fiscal periods, foreign exchange rates, and GL batch postings in ERP systems (NetSuite).
- Supervise the Accounts Receivable team: ensure accurate invoicing, timely collections, and cash application.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce DSO, improve cash flow, and minimize bad debts.
- Lead, coach, and support team members through goal-setting, regular meetings, and performance reviews.
- Oversee Canadian and U.S. corporate tax installments, sales tax filings, and other regulatory reporting.
- Support treasury functions, including bank reconciliations and borrowing base reports.
- Collaborate on KPI reporting, year-end audit preparation, and ad hoc projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting; CPA designation preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising or leading a small team.
- Experience with ERP systems (ex. NetSuite).
- Experience with ASPE is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of consolidations in multi-entity and multi-currency environments is also preferred.
- Background in manufacturing or distribution preferred.
- Advanced to expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to lead individuals with varying personalities while fostering teamwork.
