Purpose:
Overseeing the financial activities and operations within the organization. This position is crucial in managing the day-to-day tasks, comply with financial reporting obligations and to further help Leadership build out forecasts.
1. Team Coordination & Workflow Management
- Assign and prioritize tasks among accountants (e.g., month-end close, reconciliations, AR/AP processing).
- Monitor deadlines and ensure deliverables are met (financial reporting, tax filings, audits).
- Optimize workflow, reduce bottlenecks, and support cross-functional coordination (e.g., with finance, operations, or IT).
2. Performance Management
- Set goals and expectations for each team member.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and address underperformance.
- Recognize strong performance and support career development.
3. Communication & Alignment
- Act as a liaison between accounting and other departments or leadership.
- Communicate organizational priorities, changes, or updates to the accounting team.
- Ensure team members understand how their work fits into the company’s broader goals.
4. Coaching & Development
- Identify training needs and help team members access resources to build skills (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, financial analysis).
- Mentor team members in soft skills like communication, time management, or leadership (especially for those moving toward senior roles).
6. Problem Solving & Escalation Management
- Help resolve non-technical challenges (e.g., workload balance, communication breakdowns).
- Escalate technical accounting questions to the Controller or CFO when needed.
7. Accounting Management
- Manage Day to Day Accounting Operations
- Comply with financial reporting obligations
- Help leadership build out forecasts
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting Management
- Knowledge of Famous Accounting Software a bonus.
- Strong knowledge in accounting principles and practices.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel); experience using Famous or SAP is an asset.
- Strong organization skills.
- Strong communications skills, able to cooperate with other team members.
- Honest, reliable and dedicated.
- Ability to learn fast.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
