Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Yard Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our yard. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management and heavy equipment operation, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely and efficiently. This role is crucial in maintaining the flow of materials and ensuring that our shipping and receiving processes run smoothly.
Duties
- Supervise yard operations, including loading and unloading materials using forklifts and trucks.
- Manage the shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate order picking and inventory management.
- Operate heavy equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Overseeing the concrete crushing in the yard
- Managing the incoming and outgoing trucks and where they are to load/unload their materials
- Train and mentor team members on best practices for yard operations and equipment handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and manage orders effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any operational issues.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar supervisory role.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes as well as order picking techniques.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and other departments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
