Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Yard Supervisor to oversee operations in our yard and ensure the efficient handling of materials and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse distribution, shipping and receiving, and heavy equipment operation. This role is crucial for maintaining safety standards and optimizing workflow within the yard.
Duties
- Supervise daily yard operations, ensuring all activities are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of materials using various equipment, including forklifts, clamp trucks, and cranes.
- Manage shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to maintain an organized distribution area.
- Conduct regular inspections of heavy equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning.
- Train new employees on safety protocols and equipment operation.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Build strong relationships with team members to foster a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution or a similar role.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and order pickers.
- Must have air brakes licence.
- Strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong leadership abilities with effective communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
