We are currently recruiting for the role of Territory Sales Representative – Ontario East to join our dynamic and energetic team. This position reports to the Sales Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Territory includes Ottawa to Kingston
- Perform sales calls, including travel to current and prospective customers to make sales presentations, calculate and quote prices, take orders and close transactions
- Provide customer service to ensure resolution of issues within company policies
- Communicate customer requirements and request support from other departments as necessary
- Monitor territory performance against established objectives, suggesting and taking strategic action to improve performance
- Assist in establishing sales objectives for the territory in conjunction with the District Manager and ensure sales activities in the territory comply with established policies, procedures and practices
- Provide timely reporting of activities in the field and special reporting to assist in the business and product planning
- Perform research and analysis on sales growth opportunities and collaborate with other departments to take action
Requirements and Competencies:
- High school diploma or GED, post secondary college degree a plus
- Ability to speak French is an asset
- Minimum 3 years of sales and/or account management experience, preferably in distribution or flooring
- Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of the company’s product lines and policies
- Knowledge of the terms, concepts and practices of the marketing and sales environment, including basic accounting, distribution, customer service, product development, etc.
- Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Proficient using a computer, e-mail and corporate database systems
