Overview
The Lifesaving Society is a full-service provider of programs, products and services designed to prevent drowning. As Canada’s lifeguarding experts, we set the standard for professional lifeguard training and certify Canada’s National Lifeguards. We are currently seeking a sales driven individual to provide strategic sales leadership, comprehensive marketing campaigns, and robust business development for our organization.
JOB DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Sales Strategy & Revenue Generation
a. Collaborate with the Senior Officer to develop and execute an annual outreach and marketing plan along with annual sales targets.
b. Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across Canada, including registration on procurement platforms and responses to RFQs/RFPs.
c. Analyze sales data to identify performance gaps and develop responsive sales strategies.
d. Customize and implement sales programs to meet growth objectives.
2. Event Management & Trade Shows
a. Manage all aspects of trade show participation, from pre-show planning to post-show evaluation.
b. Book and attend approved trade events, ensuring all logistics, including travel, and budgeting, are handled efficiently.
c. Serve as brand and product representative at events—setup, host, demo products, track sales via POS, and manage merchandise inventory.
3. Customer & Product Expertise
a. Serve as the subject matter expert for Lifesaving Society products including technical equipment like AEDs, CPR manikins, and first aid supplies.
b. Provide timely and accurate product information and solutions to customers.
c. Track trends and stay up to date with new product developments in aquatic and lifesaving industries.
4. Marketing & Campaign Management
a. Work with Senior Officer and Communication team in creation, deployment, and analysis of marketing campaigns promoting LifeguardDepot.com.
b. Work with Senior officer to develop campaign briefs, coordinate creative development, and measure performance using ROI metrics.
c. Assist with the creation of promotional materials and oversee outbound/inbound marketing initiatives.
5. Key Account & Relationship Management
a. Act as the primary contact for out-of-province branches, partners, distributors, and vendors.
b. Foster and grow positive relationships with affiliates, municipalities, and commercial clients.
c. Share new product information and provide quarterly marketing support as needed.
6. Product Lifecycle Management
a. Participate in the onboarding, launch, and ongoing evaluation of new and existing products.
b. Contribute ideas for product development aligned with organizational objectives.
c. Support national-level projects and merchandising agreements
7. Procurement & Inventory Collaboration
a. Support sourcing and vendor relationship management for technical products.
b. Assist in forecasting inventory, executing purchasing strategy, and identifying process efficiencies.
c. Work with other Lifesaving departments to coordinate product customization and launches.
8. Work in a team environment consistent with the Lifesaving Society culture of providing excellent products and services to customers.
9. Actively participate in maintaining a safe working environment.
10. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in B2B sales, marketing, and customer account management.
- Proven experience managing complex sales cycles from initiation to close, with a preference for experience within the nonprofit, retail, or aquatic safety sectors.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) demonstrated success in building and maintaining professional relationships.
- Strategic thinking and analytical abilities to effectively evaluate campaign effectiveness, interpret market trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple concurrent projects and priorities effectively.
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Demonstrated experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and POS (Point of Sale) systems.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
- Ability to travel (including air travel) and work extended hours as required.
- Access to reliable vehicles.
- Ability to lift, pack/unpack, and transport event equipment and merchandise
- Hybrid - In Person at Lifesaving Society - Ontario Branch office or Work Remote from home
