The Team Leader Project Management is responsible for ensuring the execution of well-developed plans, adherence to strong management processes, and a commitment to successful deliveries across their team.
As an individual contributor, they have the experience and the ability to manage large complex business projects or business transformation initiatives.
As a leader, they will coach and advise their staff to improve skills across the team and work to further improve our internal development program and standard procedures. They will work with the leadership team to ensure successful delivery on our joint commitments and continued growth in the way we work.
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
This role requires on-site presence.
- Lead and manage a team of project coordinators, leads and project managers - providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure successful project delivery and team performance.
- Drive alignment on project scope, timelines, and responsibilities across teams.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements to drive innovation within the team.
- Oversee the development, and maintenance of project plans and planning artifacts
- Collaborating with stakeholders, such as application specialists, designers, architects, business analysts, and end-users, to understand project requirements, scope, and priorities, and to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and development of new members of the team and making sure they are ready to contribute.
- Managing the allocation of resources, workload, and priorities within the team to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain the relationships with local universities to ensure a healthy and productive student placement program.
- Lead the team to prepare weekly status reports, paying close attention to deadlines
- Ensure adherence to project processes – address and escalate gaps as required
- Act as a first point of escalation for project issues for direct reports
- University degree or College diploma in related discipline
- 10+ years work experience in a business environment
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving
- Advanced facilitation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
- Able to work well independently and collaboratively
