THE IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:
We are seeking an experienced Global Director, Project Management Office (PMO) to lead our enterprise project and program operations in a regulated industry environment across North America and Europe. Reporting to the President, this senior leadership role will drive the successful execution of mission-critical programs across R&D, Regulatory Affairs, IT, and Commercial functions—while ensuring strict compliance with applicable regulatory standards (e.g., FDA CFR 21, MDR, ISO).
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with deep expertise in project portfolio management, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. You will be a trusted partner to senior executives and a mentor to a growing PMO team, while fostering a culture of delivery excellence and operational rigor.
HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:
- Define and lead the enterprise PMO strategy, structure, and governance framework.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of strategic programs including product development, sustaining and infrastructure.
- Define and/or maintain project and program management methods.
- Establish a results-driven reporting process for tracking performance, progress, and outcomes. Deliver clear, actionable insights through dashboards to support timely decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all project delivery meets regulatory and quality standards (21 CFR Part 11, MDR, ISO 13485) and internal quality processes.
- Lead enterprise portfolio management and partner with business leaders to prioritize and allocate resources effectively.
- Provide accurate, timely reporting on project health, risk, and value delivery to executive leadership.
- Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, R&D and Commercial stakeholders to drive alignment and ensure compliance.
- Build and develop a global high-performing team of project and program managers.
- Champion best practices, process improvements, and the adoption of modern project management methodologies.
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, or related field (Masters or MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of project/program leadership experience, including 5+ years in a regulated industry, such as biotech, pharma, MedTech, or healthcare.
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional programs and teams in R&D, Clinical and/or Regulatory domains.
- Proven global senior leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven track record of change management focused on building strong interdepartmental relationships and influencing people’s engagement and expectations.
- Experience managing governance in international matrixed organizations with complex regulatory requirements.
ADDITIONAL STRENGTHS:
- Strong proficiency in understanding complex technical challenges.
- Strong knowledge of project/portfolio management tools.
- Ability to make and recommend data-driven decisions and leverage project management, workflow, and analytics tools to create a data-driven culture.
- Strong knowledge of project management frameworks (PMP, IPMA, PgMP, or PMI-ACP) are an asset. Additional certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, SAFe, RAC) are a plus.
