What You’ll Do:
- Implement and generalize therapeutic interventions tailored to each client’s unique needs.
- Foster a nurturing and accepting environment for children with varying levels of need.
- Assess and document client skills, strengths, and progress through anecdotal notes, checklists, and visual tracking.
- Support Early Intervention Programming for children with or pending an ASD diagnosis in home and childcare settings.
- Engage in interactive, movement-based activities that promote self-regulation, social skills, and communication.
- Facilitate structured programming in home and community environments.
- Maintain and supervise a safe, engaging, and supportive space for clients.
- Work alongside a collaborative team of RBAs, SLPs, and other professionals.
What We’re Looking For:
- Diploma in Autism and Behaviour Sciences, Communication Disorders Assistant, ECE, CYC, SSW, DSW, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting children/youth with ASD in community and home settings.
- Understanding of ABA principles (training provided for the right candidate).
- 1+ years of experience in an ABA setting is an asset.
- Experience with NET (Natural Environment Teaching) and NDBI (Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions) is an asset.
- Access to a reliable vehicle is MANDATORY. Applicants without a car will not be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Active engagement in structured activities and play-based therapy.
- Ability to provide physical support to clients, including mobility assistance, dressing, feeding, and toileting if needed.
- Experience handling challenging behaviors using evidence-based strategies.
- Must obtain Vulnerable Sector Screening clearance.
- Willingness to travel between client locations (reliable transportation is required).
Compensation & Growth Opportunities:
- Competitive Pay: $22.50 - $26.50 per hour (based on education & experience).
