A 31-year-old male needs you to support him to achieve a rich, fulfilling and joyful life. This position offers you the opportunity to support an individual on the autism spectrum to meet goals in communication, leisure, academics, and contributions to the community. The individual being supported in this home-based program is physically active, artistic, and involved in the local community. This position requires a caring and hardworking person to accompany and facilitate him in his activities.
Daily Activities Include:
- IMAX, museums, art galleries, Butchart Gardens, Flying Squirrel, etc.
- Swimming, workouts, badminton, and table tennis at local recreation centres
- Mini golf, driving range, and Par 3 golf
- Hiking (Mount Doug, Mount Tolmie, Mount Work, Gowlland Tod, Goldstream, etc.)
- Cycling (Galloping Goose, Lochside Trail, and other trails)
- Jogging/power walking within parks and community
- Assisting with various creative activities (basic woodwork, drawing, paper mache, clay work, rockhounding, journaling, Lego, baking/cooking)
- Supervising the client's volunteer work within the community
- And others

Requirements (financial assistance may be available):
- Willingness to actively learn while embracing a positive attitude
- B.C. Ministry (PSSG) Criminal Record Check
- Standard First Aid and CPR C and AED
- Food Safe Level 1
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License (vehicle provided for outings)
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- First two Covid vaccinations
- Minimum of two shifts per week
- Attendance for team meetings and consultations with the client's Program Supervisor/BCBA consultant
Other Information:
Hours of work:
- Shifts available every day of the week (including weekends)
- Day shifts are 7:30am - 3:30pm
- Afternoon shifts are 3:15pm - 10:30pm
Location:
- Residence in Oak Bay
Pay Rate:
- Training $23 per hour
- Starting wage $25 per hour
- Senior wage $26 per hour
