About Town House Glace Bay Citizen’s Service League
Established in 1967, Glace Bay Citizens Service League is a volunteer based non-profit, charitable organization which offers programs that improve the quality of life of the community of Glace Bay and surrounding areas, in response to needs identified by residents.
Position Overview:
The Social Media Coordinator supports the mission of Town House by creating well-crafted content that showcases the mission and programs of Town House, Citizen Services League.
Our ideal candidate has the ability to think big picture and bring new ideas to the table, while focusing on getting tasks completed and reaching goals. Excellent grammar and spelling are essential, as well as the ability to be creative, work independently, and have a sense of humour.
Primary Job Functions
- Daily oversight and management for Town House social channels, primarily Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Complete website updates
- Take compelling photos and videos to share on social media and website
- Build out a social media calendar for posts, social campaigns, events, fundraisers, etc.
- Brainstorm and implement methods to increase profile of Town House and raise awareness within the community.
- Stay up-to-date on new social media feature rollouts.
- Represent our organization through exceptional customer assistance across all social channels with a quick, courteous, and friendly manner.
- Generate weekly reports on social media growth and analysis across all social channels.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Relevant post-secondary education, or equivalent combination of education and experience, must be returning to school in September.
- Between 15-30 years old
- Detail oriented, a self-starter, highly motivated, and highly organized
- Previous experience in an office environment considered an asset
- Proficient on digital platforms including, but not limited to Wix, Canva, Google Drive, specifically Google Sheets, Facebook, and Instagram
- Demonstrated ability in social media management and planning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent grammar, editing, and writing skills – be a clear and concise communicator
- Photo and video skills via mobile device considered an asset
- Displays a positive attitude, creativity, and humour
Requirements
- Requires ability to keyboard at computer or use hand held device for up to 7 hours per day.
- Successful criminal record check and vulnerable sector search

Compensation and Hours
$16.00/ hour for 35 hours/ week
Hours of operation are from 9am - 4pm M-F
8 week contract position - June 16, 2025 - August 8, 2025
