JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Clinical Practice & Learning Specialist, the Social Media Specialist – Summer Student will assist in researching, developing, and scheduling content and education to be shared on social media, pertinent to palliative and hospice care. The Social Media Specialist – Summer Student will work in collaboration with both their manager and the Communications Coordinator to create a calendar of content to be shared on social media.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & SUCCESS CRITERIA:
Reporting to the Clinical Practice & Learning Specialist, this role will be responsible for:
- Developing a social media strategy for the calendar year that considers placement and timing.
- Researching to accurately determine significant dates related to palliative care and bereavement to include within the above.
- Developing a bank of creditable organizations to be brought forward and boosted through hospice accounts.
- Assisting in the preparation of brochures and reports.
- Ensure any and all communication to be shared is clear, informative and easily digestible to the public.
This position may be required to perform additional related job functions beyond this description.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Current enrollment in a secondary or post-secondary program with the intention of returning in fall 2025.
- Ability to use digital technology and tools in order to accurately search, manage, and apply information as required as well as utilize social media in a safe and secure manner.
- Ability to find, understand, use, or share information presented through written words, symbols, and images.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Demonstrated punctuality and attendance.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with employees, leaders, community stakeholders, etc.
- Must be aged 16 – 29 as per the Canada Summer Jobs eligibility requirements.
- Must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident as per the Canada Summer Jobs eligibility requirements.
