Opportunity:
We’re looking for a creative and organized Social Media Account Manager to lead our digital presence across multiple platforms. This role will manage existing accounts (Instagram, Facebook, X) and be responsible for launching and growing new ones (LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.). The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of social media trends, content strategy, and analytics—and above all, a deep love for animals and storytelling.
About Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary:
Dog Tales is a world-renowned dog rescue and horse sanctuary set on an incredible 50 acres of green fields, rolling hills, and wooded areas in King City, Ontario. Our picturesque location - complete with walking trails, therapy pools, and a grooming spa - is the perfect setting for abused and neglected animals to heal and be rehabilitated while they wait for forever homes. Along with medical care, our team provides all of the love, attention, and training that our rescue animals need to recover from their difficult pasts, so that they can move on to permanent, loving homes, which most do. For the rest, Dog Tales is home for as long as they need it to be.
The Role:
- Schedule content (photos, videos, stories, reels, etc.) that aligns with the Dog Tales brand and mission.
- Manage and grow our existing social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, X, etc) with consistent and on-brand posting.
- Set up and launch new social media accounts, including LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, and others as needed.
- Monitor and respond to messages, comments, and community interactions in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Track performance, engagement metrics, and audience growth across platforms; report on insights and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Work with the Media team to plan and execute campaigns, highlight rescue stories, promote adoptable animals, and events.
- Stay up to date with social media best practices, trends, and platform updates to keep content fresh and effective.
What You Bring:
- 2+ years experience managing social media accounts professionally
- Proficiency in content scheduling tools (e.g., Later, Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite)
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines

Salary:
The salary for this position starts at $42,000 per year.
Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a schedule of 8 AM – 5 PM, five days a week, with occasional weekend shifts as needed.
