Summary
We are seeking a talented Social & Digital Media Manager to join our team at Dutchman’s Gold. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for managing our social media presence, creating engaging digital content, and serving customers at our Carlisle farmgate store. You’ll capture on-site and off-site content, design assets for retail and online, and help build brand awareness through storytelling and community connection. This is a creative, people-facing role ideal for someone who thrives in a small business environment, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and is passionate about natural wellness and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Digital Strategy
- Manage all social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook), including posts, reels, stories, comments, and engagement
- Co-create digital content strategies with our VP of Sales & Marketing (monthly and quarterly)
- Track trends, performance metrics, and analytics to optimize reach and impact
Content Creation & Community Engagement
- Capture and edit weekly video and photo content on-site (farm, store, office) and off-site as needed
- Attend key events (media days, hive walks, demos) to gather content
- Create and appear in reels and video content — bring your energy and personality!
- Write compelling captions, plan content calendars, and align with our brand voice and purpose
Design & Campaign Support
- Create graphics and promotional material for social media, e-commerce, and retailer ads
- Support design of digital flyers, POP displays, and retail-facing tools
- Maintain brand consistency across digital and print collateral
In-Store / Community Experience
- Greet and serve local customers/day at our farmgate store (Monday–Wednesday, 9:00–5:15)
- Offer product education and create a welcoming, community-first experience
Collaboration & Culture
- Meet weekly or biweekly in-person with the VP Sales & Marketing
- Pitch in with a can-do attitude across departments — we’re a small, collaborative team
- Self-starter mindset: proactive, organized, creative, and accountable
What You Bring
- 1+ years’ experience in social media, digital marketing/graphic design, or content creation and website maintenance
- Diploma or degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, or related field
- Familiarity with AI tools for content planning, design, or video captions
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent), and basic video editing tools (e.g., Veed)
- Comfortable shooting and editing reels/short-form video
- Bonus: experience with paid ads and retail marketing
- Positive, energetic, and community-minded
- Local to Hamilton/Puslinch/Carlisle/Waterdown/Burlington for weekly on-site work

Pay: $34,728.54-$40,000.00 per year
