JOHNSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (JES) – Watson Lake
Home to the Liard First Nation people, Johnson Elementary School is one of 11 Yukon schools who have joined the newly established First Nation School Board (FNSB) in the Yukon. Dene Zā́gé’- Kaska is the traditional language of the Liard First Nation people.
Johnson Elementary School is a K – 7 school with approximately 130 students. We are actively seeking a School Administrative Assistant who are dedicated to living in and being an active member of the community and who can adapt well to a remote lifestyle. Our School professionals value authentic relationships and are committed to working with students, community, administration, Liard First Nation Education team and the FNSB to make positive, progressive changes to education outcomes for learners of Watson Lake.

Essential Qualifications
- Strong ability to build positive, respectful relationships with diverse clients, colleagues, and community members
- Experience in front line interaction such as providing a welcoming and courteous support to clients and visitors, maintaining professionalism
- Experienced in coordinating administrative workflows, ensuring accurate records management and proper handling of sensitive and confidential correspondence
- Experience in overseeing the phone systems and directing inquiries efficiently
- Manage financial administration tasks such as managing petty cash, processing purchases, overseeing trust accounts, reconciling Visa statements, and monitoring the approved budget.
- Experience at either an office or school setting, providing support for routine administrative and operational tasks is an asset.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Additional information
Conditions of Employment:
- RCMP Security Clearance, Vulnerable Sector
- Standard First Aid (willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire)
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
