Position Overview:
Reporting to the Manager, Quality and Clinical Standardization, the successful candidate will support Scarborough Health Network’s program leaders and front-line teams by utilizing patient quality and safety measures and key performance indicators that align with the organization’s goals and strategic direction. The successful candidate will support the annual Quality Improvement Plan initiatives and ongoing efforts of continuous quality improvement, using innovative solutions to evaluate and track performance according to defined standards of care, best practices and the principles of a High Reliability Organization. The Quality Improvement Facilitator will also identify opportunities for improvement that will improve quality outcomes and safety across the organization by designing, developing, testing and implementing changes through the application of leading-edge quality improvement strategies and techniques.

Responsibilities:
- Provide expert level quality improvement (QI) knowledge and lead capacity building in QI methodology (Lean, Six Sigma and Optimization) across the organization to build a culture of sustainable improvement.
- Support, educate and coach leaders on the quality management and improvement methodologies.
- Identify and evaluate root causes for performance shortfalls and gaps and recommend innovative strategies for improved outcomes throughout its lifecycle
- Support leaders and managers in metric selection that aligns to organizational priorities that are also meaningful to staff and physicians
- Support the annual Quality Improvement Plan, Accreditation action plans and key corporate quality and safety initiatives aligned to the portfolio
Requirements:
- University Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Health Disciplines
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration
- Certification in the following: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB), Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or previous experience in Quality Improvement Certified Profession in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
- 5+ years of Quality improvement experience, experience in a healthcare environment is an asset
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills (including qualitative and quantitative analysis), with process driven mentality
- Solid facilitation skills, with confidence and ability to provide coaching
- Excellent critical thinking skills with a strong attention to detail
- Solid communication skills (both written and oral)
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to be consultative
- Flexible and responsive in a complex and dynamic environment
- Team-orientated
- Exceptional organization & time management skills, must be able to work and perform duties with little or no supervision and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Strategic view and ability to interrelate projects and initiatives to align with Corporate strategic goals
- Computer skills with hands-on capabilities in Microsoft: including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Outlook
- Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues and volunteers and other members of the community and public
- Demonstrates values consistent with SHN's Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation
- Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, and environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area
- Demonstrates excellent work performance and attendance record
