Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Data 4HER Facilitator to lead engaging and interactive coding workshops for minority girls. The facilitator will be responsible for delivering curriculum-based sessions, mentoring participants, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate coding and digital literacy workshops aligned with the Data 4HER curriculum.
- Provide hands-on instruction in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, or Scratch (depending on the program level).
- Guide students through coding projects, problem-solving exercises, and real-world applications.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment, encouraging young women to explore careers in technology.
- Collaborate with the programming team to adapt lessons and incorporate industry trends.
- Mentor and support participants by answering questions, providing feedback, and tracking progress.
- Assist in program evaluation by collecting feedback and assessing student engagement.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of coding and programming languages (Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, etc.).
- Experience teaching, mentoring, or facilitating workshops in coding, STEM, or technology-related subjects.
- Passion for empowering young women and increasing diversity in STEM fields.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire participants with interactive learning approaches.
- Experience working with youth, particularly from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, is a plus.
This is a hybrid position.
Time commitment: 10 hours / week
Job Type: Volunteer
Pay: $0.01 per hour
