Chef Kate Rice of AtYourTable.ca is looking for an enthusiastic and personable Part-Time Chef to join her boutique culinary business offering elevated in-home dining experiences and intimate catered events across the Lower Mainland.

Led by Chef Kate Rice, whose thoughtful, seasonal menus and warm professionalism have earned a loyal following in the private chef and event catering world. Based in Vancouver, her service brings elegant food and personalized hospitality into people’s homes and special gatherings.
About the Role
This is a part-time, event-based role, ideal for a chef who is passionate about private dining in homes and thrives on creating intimate, memorable food experiences.
We’re looking for someone who
- is excited about cooking in private homes and engaging with clients
- feels confident working solo (and representing the brand with professionalism)
- has strong foundational skills but is open to mentorship and growth
- enjoys the artistry and hospitality side of cooking, not just the food
This position offers the opportunity to build leadership skills and, for the right candidate, grow into taking the lead on select events.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook in clients' homes, adapting meals to guest preferences
- Assist with prep and event execution (including setup and plating)
- Maintain excellent plating and presentation standards
- Keep work areas organized and spotless
- Occasionally lead service in Chef Kate’s absence
- Follow all food safety protocols
- Represent At Your Table with warmth, confidence, and professionalism
Qualifications
- Professional chef experience (fine dining or upscale catering preferred)
- Strong knife skills, ingredient knowledge, and attention to detail
- Confident cooking independently
- Positive, personable, and client-facing demeanor
- Valid Food Safe Level 1 (or willingness to obtain)
- Driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Punctual, professional, adaptable, and collaborative
Bonus Assets
- Culinary diploma or Red Seal certification
- Experience with plated dining and small events
- Serving It Right or First Aid
Schedule & Details
- Part-time with flexible hours (event-based)
- Current shifts: Weekday evenings (5–8 PM) + occasional weekends
- Prep in Vancouver; events across Metro Vancouver
