Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of Meat Cutter to join our Meat team on a part-time (up to 24 hours per week) basis at our location in Elk Point, AB. Reporting to the Deli/Meat Manager.
What you’ll do:
· Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences.
· Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences.
· Provide meal solution suggestions and recommendations to members and customers based on their needs and preferences.
· Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat including beef, pork, chicken, and other meat products.
· Cut all pork and beef primals into customer-ready portions, ensuring proper quality and consistency.
· Prepare and display Butchered Seasoned meat to meet customer demand and display standards.
· Wrapping, pricing, and merchandising products in line with the Co-op’s standards, policies, and CASM guidelines.
· Perform proper clean-up, maintenance, and housekeeping duties (i.e., logging temperatures, sanitizing work areas).
· Follow all safe food handling practices and adhere to safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
· Be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays on a rotational basis.
· Demonstrate day-to-day behaviors and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative's vision, mission, values, and focus on safety.
· Perform other duties as assigned to support team operations and customer service initiatives.

Who you are:
· You have a Grade 12 education or a combination of relevant experience.
· Completion of a recognized Retail Meat Cutter Training Program is an asset but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.

· You’re honest, trustworthy, and results-oriented, always striving to be the best in what you do.

· You are proficient in handling and preparing a variety of meats, including beef, pork, and chicken, while adhering to food safety and quality standards.
· You are capable of regularly lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
