This summer, we are starting the data collection for a Carbon forestry project in the Parrsboro area and are looking for motivated individuals who enjoy working outdoors to support our fieldwork efforts.
The Opportunity
As a Forest Inventory Technician, you will be part of a small field team tasked with collecting standardized ecological and structural data from forest plots. Your tasks will include identifying tree species, measuring DBH, measuring tree height, and recording site-level conditions using mobile data collection tools.
This is a great opportunity for early-career professionals, or anyone with an interest in forestry and the environment to gain hands-on experience in the field while contributing to a meaningful project.
Key Responsibilities
- Navigate to and assess pre-selected forest plots using GPS and maps
- Identify tree species and measure tree and site attributes (e.g., DBH, height, sort)
- Assess and record biodiversity conditions
- Ensure consistency and completeness of collected data
Who We’re Looking For
- Knowledge of forestry and ability to identify common tree species
- Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather and terrain conditions
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently or in a small team
- A valid driver’s license
- Access to a personal vehicle

Contract length: 3 months
Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
