POSITION SUMMARY:
The Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County (MCC) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor to support the operations of our Employment & Training Services Department. This role will provide day-to-day guidance to program staff, coordinate service delivery, monitor outcomes, and assist with reporting and budget tracking. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in employment training, workforce development, and working with newcomers to Canada, along with strong organizational and leadership skills to help ensure program success.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction for all employment programs, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission, goals, and funder requirements.
- Program Oversight: Support the coordination and implementation of employment programs in alignment with MCC’s mission and funder requirements.
- Staff Supervision: Provide day-to-day supervision and support to frontline staff, including scheduling, task coordination, and performance monitoring.
- Client Services: Ensure high-quality service delivery to clients, supporting program staff in addressing client needs and employment barriers.
- Data and Reporting: Collect and review program data, assist with preparing funder and internal reports, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor program activities to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of service.
- Budget Tracking: Assist in monitoring program expenditures and maintaining documentation related to purchases and program-related costs.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain positive relationships with employers, community partners, and service providers to support client outcomes.
- Problem-Solving: Provide guidance and support to staff when challenges arise in service delivery or client progress.
- Training Support: Help onboard new staff, and support ongoing training and professional development initiatives.
- Representation: Represent the department at community events, meetings, or internal committees as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, business management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in employment services or workforce development, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Sector Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Canadian Labour market and employment programs tailored to the needs of newcomers.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience in managing multiple teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Budgeting and Reporting: Proven experience managing complex budgets, forecasting, and preparing detailed program reports for funders.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including job seekers and employers.
- Problem-Solving: Strong understanding of employment barriers faced by newcomers, with experience developing and implementing effective solutions.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant legislation and best practices related to employment services and settlement programs.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and the Microsoft Office suite.

- Must possess a valid Level 3 Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance, renewed every 3 years
