- Has Program Leadership and Management: This individual will have taken a hands-on approach in leading a variety of initiatives while supervising various team members. The ideal candidate will have a track record of effectively leading a performance-based and outcome-based program and team.
- Has Team Building and Development experience : The successful candidate will have recruited, managed, and developed a strong team of staff. This individual will serve as a “player/coach” to motivate and mentor their team.
- Exceptional Communication and Influencing Skills: As a voice/advocate of NEW’s Employment Services, the Manager will have strong written and verbal communication skills. They will be a persuasive, credible, and polished communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
- Lead the day-to-day operations of NEW’s Integrated Employment Services (IES) and programs including managing staff at all of NEW’S IES Sites.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive operational plan detailing goals, objectives, and performance standards for both programs
- Oversee and monitor programs budgets, and submit financial reports to the Senior Manager and funders
- Support the transformation to a data driven, case management and training approach to Employment Services
- Build a high performing team to align with the organization’s strategic direction for transformation
- Instill a climate of success within the team by strong, supportive leadership and a positive attitude to facilitate a client centred approach to care
- Support the leadership team with developing and implementing a strategic plan for the Integrated Employment Services
- Develop service accountability framework to implement quality improvement and provides a consistent approach to program delivery across multiple sites
- Responsible for the supervision and management of the data management software(s)
- Complete and submit monitoring and narrative reports to the Ministry as well as Business Plans and other required reports.
- Participates in the annual program development planning process, including reporting on the past year's outcomes and accomplishments and future initiatives, and setting criteria for undertaking new directions and approaches consistent with NEWs’ Strategic Plan.
- Staying abreast of current and future program directions and funding prospects of various funders.
- Establish linkages and provide senior leadership with relevant community partners to develop innovative ideas to meet current and evolving client needs.
- Conduct and/or lead Quality Audits in compliance with the organizational and legislated requirements
- Analyze trends in programs, identifying issues and developing and recommending solutions to the Senior Manager of Employment and Training Programs.
- Manage, coordinate, and monitor all assigned programs and services, ensuring all funding requirements, commitments and targets are met and assigned budget is spent
- Develop and implement targeted employer outreach strategies to recruit and engage a diverse network of employers across multiple sectors.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of inclusive employers committed to supporting client job placements and achieving strong employment outcomes.
- Develop and improve processes and policies based on quality assurance requirements
- Monitor deliverables of program teams and provides direction to the team
- Work closely with other program managers to build best practices across teams
- Develop proposals to public and private funding organizations, based on emerging opportunities throughout each fiscal year
- Participate in writing grants to sustain and grow Employment programs and services
- Participate in public meetings and events to develop and maintain organizational visibility and consistent community and partnership development
- Develop, implement, and evaluate short-term and long-term program plans to meet community needs and achieve funder targets
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely statistical and program reports as required by the Executive Director and NEW Board
- Develop and maintain service delivery partnerships with other community service providers in support of program activities
- Other duties assigned by the senior leadership team.
- A minimum of five (5) years leadership experience in a nonprofit, for-profit, government, or philanthropy, working on growth, business development, strategy, planning or related issues
- An undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Human resources is required
- Knowledge and experience of Integrated Employment Services, and other Employment Ontario programs such as Canada Ontario Job Grant is an asset
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in writing grants applications, proposals and funders reports
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience leading and delivering programs
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience managing people in a unionized environment
- Demonstrated experience in change management, with specific examples of leading teams through transformative change at a management level
- Experience working with Salesforce and CAMS considered an asset
