The Customs Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating all customs compliance activities to ensure the accurate and timely movement of goods across international borders. This role ensures adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies while optimizing processes to minimize delays, costs, and compliance risks. Other responsibilities include:

Customs clearance operations
- Database & Document: Manage and update the export-and-import ledger and logistics-related base sheets, etc. (including, but not limited to: HS code of imported products, import duty rate, supervision condition)
- Handle import/export booking customs declaration, and document preparation/review to ensure compliance with regulations
- Track shipment status and coordinate logistics to ensure on-time delivery

Logistics Cost Control
- Verify logistics expenses and optimize shipping solutions to reduce costs

Compliance & Policy Implementation
- Accurately classify products under the correct HS codes based on customs regulations and product specifications.
- Stay updated on customs regulations and ensure company compliance
- Assist in customs audits and provide required documentation

Cross-Department Coordination
- Collaborate with the purchase, production control and finance departments for smooth operation.s
- Resolve issues (,g: inspection, returns) and provide solutions
- Responsible for the Administration and monitoring budget/KPI for the Canada region International Logistics operation center
- Coordinate with local customs and relevant government departments, as well as other tasks assigned by leaders
To be a qualified candidate you must meet the following:
- Bachelor's degree in International trade, International business, International logistics or similar
- Minimum 3 years of customs operations experience in the manufacturing industry, familiarity with the automotive parts industry is preferred
- knowledge of Canadian customs regulations and operational compliance
- Ability of HS codes classification is preferred
