Position Overview
FBM is currently seeking a customer service sales representative. This position reports to the branch manager or operations manager and works closely with branch account managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow direct customer profitability (DCP) for all house accounts in assigned branch.
- Maintain and grow market share with new and existing customers and products.
- Help build a strong and evolving relationship between key accounts.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing inventory including setting shipping schedules and negotiation with freight carriers to set freight rates.
- Execute other responsibilities as needed including customer visitation, warehouse work, quotations to customers, adherence to credit policy and purchasing support.
- Assist in all products and service issues, purchasing, scheduling, facility maintenance, truck maintenance and warehouse/office housekeeping.
- At discretion and guidance of manager, provide supervision of warehouse personnel, drivers, Administrative staff, and part time/temp labor.
- Participates in job tracking and follow-up as requested.
- Assist with administrative work as needed.
- Make phone calls to all current house accounts to help improve relationships.
- Follow up on sales in the office including some inside sales activity.
- Perform customer order entry, invoicing, cash sales in computer system and ensure correct procedures for all.
- Under defined guidelines quote jobs for customers.
- Fax or mail submittals, material specs and pricing to the customer.
- Follow up on and close bids within guidelines.
- Comply with all Company requirements for accurate administrative reporting.
- Participate in all physical inventories.
- Ability to uncover customer needs and assist in finding product benefits to satisfy customer needs.
- Thorough product and systems knowledge.
- Regular use of JDE system for the purpose of communicating within the company and to customers, entering orders, determining credit worthiness and developing quotes and pricing.
- Customer service oriented and strong telephone skills.
- Ability to handle several tasks at the same time and work well under pressure.
- Knowledge and use of basic selling skills
- Forklift and driver certification as required
- HS Diploma/GED required
- After receipt of conditional offer of employment, must be able to pass drug screen.
- Pay: $50,000-$60,000/per year.
- Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, education, training, and/or experience.
