Job Summary
The City of Nanaimo is seeking casual Arena Maintenance Workers. Under the supervision of the Arena Maintenance Supervisor, Arena Maintenance Workers perform ice resurfacing operations, monitor Arena’s physical plant and maintain building security, carry out janitorial maintenance, carry out handyman duties, and assist public in their use of the facilities.

Requirements
Applicants must have completion of Grade 12, possession of a valid Refrigeration Operator Certificate, and a valid Building Service Worker – Level 1 Certificate. A minimum of 6 months’ related experience is required, as well as possession of a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
Compensation and Benefits
These are unionized positions, starting at $36.81 per hour and increasing to $38.75 after 60 working days (Jan 2025 Rates). There are no guaranteed hours associated these positions, and evening and weekend shifts will be required.
