About the Role:
As a Carpenter, you will support the Site Supervisor/Foremen by completing repair lists, reporting home defects, and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time. You are expected to arrive prepared with the necessary tools each day, follow eQ’s Health and Safety Policy, and help maintain and operate the eQ site truck as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs on finished surfaces, including but not limited to drywall, paint, trims, and floors.
- Apply caulking as needed to ensure a clean, professional finish in completed homes
- Complete minor framing and carpentry tasks such as building temporary stairs, sawhorses, lumber racks, and bracing foundation walls
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs for the site vehicle and other equipment
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Labour regulations and eQ’s Health and Safety Policy for all staff and Trade Partners
- Obtain and maintain certification for handling gas/propane temporary heaters on-site
- Perform other duties as assigned, aligned with the scope and purpose of the role
About You:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction with relevant hands-on work
- Clean driving record (driver’s abstract will be required)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain task lists and stay focused on priorities
- Understanding of Ministry of Labour regulations and the importance of proper Health & Safety reporting structures
- Basic computer skills considered an asset
