Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Autism Employment Facilitator to join our team. This position will be hybrid and is located in Corner Brook. The ideal candidate will understand the social nuances and communication differences experienced by Autistic job seekers. The facilitator will work closely with both job seekers and employers to ensure workplace success.
Duties
- Review referral documentation and coordinate intake meetings
- Liaise with family members, advocates, and service providers
- Determine program eligibility and provide referrals if applicants are ineligible
- Perform case management and maintain clear and detailed notes
- Coordinate weekly pre-employment meetings with clients
- Assist clients with resumes, cover letters, and job applications
- Advocate for clients with employers and provide support during interviews
- Provide employers with inclusive hiring tools
- Develop tool kits to assist clients in achieving workplace success and independence
- Attend shifts to assist with HR and on-boarding
- Provide on-call to clients and employers
- Attend job fairs, community events, and stay engaged with labor market issues
Qualifications
- Experience in the community and employment sector, specifically with individuals with Autism
- Education in social sciences and equivalent experience
- Strong observational skills and understanding of neurodiversity
- Ability to develop and implement individualized support plans
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills
- Experience in case management and the maintenance of detailed records
- Knowledge of inclusive hiring practices
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: $50,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
