Our Transit Services Department is looking for a dedicated Administrative III to join the team.
Reporting to the Transit Services Director, you will provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers while promoting the City of Grande Prairie's Guiding Beliefs. This position will encompass a variety of administrative and coordination duties and is an integral part of the departments' organization.
You will act as the liaison between Transit and a number of other departments within the City. In addition you will be responsible for payroll administration, orienting new employees and assisting the Director with financial reporting, processing of financial documentation and budget input. You will also provide a wide range of administrative and logistical support to the department's management team.
Position Responsibilities
- As the initial point of contact for the department, your position will be responsible for addressing both internal staff and external enquiries.
- You will be the first point of contact for all Transit Operators administration needs.
- You will also issue information management in the form of service notices, and internal staff bulletins; all of which are critical in ensuring our department attains the highest level of customer service.
- You will be the payroll administrator for the department and responsible for orienting all new employees.
- You will also support continuous improvement projects within the department.
- You will input and manage data for statistical transit operations and performance, provide meeting coordination and logistics (including scheduling, taking minutes and tracking action items), and manage cash revenue sales from bus fares.
- You will be the leader in the department for health and safety initiatives. A number of tasks will need to be continually tracked and reported monthly.
- You are the Administrative Assistant to the department Director and act as a resource to the entire staff.
- Other related duties will be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, plus two years of Post Secondary Education.
- A combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Office Administration Certificate or Diploma.
- Equivalent experience and education may be considered.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license.
Hours
The standard workweek consists of an average of 35 hours, with the specific schedule being determined by the immediate supervisor.
Compensation
Salary range $29.88 - $38.65 per hour as per the Out-of-Scope Agreement.
