Welcome Housing & Support Services is becoming the premier front-line housing support non-profit in Nova Scotia. While our services are concentrated in the HRM, we are expanding to provide more support for folks across the province and the Atlantic region. We offer housing support, low-income transitional housing, shelter diversion services, resource navigation, advocacy, IPV housing support and trustee services.
Job Overview

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Office administrator/Resource Navigator to join our trustee team. This is a dual role in an office environment, with a variety of tasks coming up throughout the day.
Language RequirementsAn excellent ability to speak, read and write in English is necessary as this position requires a substantial amount of communication. Other languages are a benefit but not necessary.

Qualifications & Skills
- Education in social work, human services, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including at-risk individuals.
- Strong abilities in crisis Intervention, de-escalation and conflict resolution.
- Strong knowledge of and ability to source community resources and social service systems.
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in case management or similar roles.
- At least 2 years of experience in an office admin, case management or community-based role.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google docs, phone and email, and comfortable with technology.
Additional Assets
- Administrative professional training or experience.
- Drivers licence.
- Communications training or experience.
- Admin Experience with Adobe, Canva, graphic design.

Administration Duties
- Answering phone calls & emails
- Welcoming and greeting guests
- Filing and keeping data in storage
- Scheduling Appointments
- Document Preparation
- Client Payment Dates
- Staff meetings
Resource Navigation Duties
- Supporting Community Drop-Ins
- Supporting Trustee Clients
- Directing to resources
- Researching
- Collaboration
- Assisting in online applications
- Other duties as needed.
Application and Selection
As this position is a unionized position, interview and selection process will
proceed in accordance with current collective agreements. Applicants

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $54,000.00 per year
