About the team you are joining
The Manager, Safety reports to the Senior Manager, Safety Risk within a dynamic Safety team that plays a key role in the delivery of the IATA safety strategy. The team works closely with other technical areas and the IATA Operational Safety Audit Program (IOSA) team.
What your day would be like
This is an exciting position that will ensure IATA delivers a safety strategy that supports our members.
With a Human Factors-centered approach, you will develop and lead the implementation of safety improvement activities in support of the IATA Safety Strategy.
Develop and implement safety promotion activities ensuring the continued relevance of IATA initiatives.
Support the IATA Human Factors Task Force, ensuring HF principles are included in the development and implementation of best practice, to deliver IATA guidance material and IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices.
Support the evolution of the IATA Safety Issue Hub and safety risk management framework.
Support the creation of safety risk assessments to support our members and the IOSA risk-based audit.
Deliver SMS training to our members and other external stakeholders.
We would love to hear from you if
5 to 10 years of experience in aviation or other safety-critical sector. Airline experience will be an advantage.
Knowledge of Safety Management Systems, including familiarity with ICAO, EASA and/or FAA SMS requirements.
Knowledge of Human Factors principles, and experience in airline operations conducting safety investigations, interviews, drafting reports and safety recommendations, would be a plus.
Experience of participating or facilitating the writing of risk assessments and development of safety promotion activities.
Experience delivering training.
Excellent organizational and communication skills in English are essential.
