As a Contracts & Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management within an assigned category, ensuring the supply plan is optimized across Irving Oil. Your goal will be to drive efficiency, enhance supplier collaboration, and implement sourcing strategies that support business objectives. Your success will be measured by streamlined procurement processes, impactful sourcing strategies, and strong supplier relationships.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business needs
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to drive value and cost savings
  • Manage supplier contracts, relationships, and performance
  • Optimize the P2P process for efficiency and compliance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business objectives
  • Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks
  • Support supplier relationship management and continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensure adherence to supply management policies and best practices
  • Monitor and resolve supplier performance issues in partnership with business stakeholders
Your Skills:
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills to drive results
  • Skills in setting objectives, tracking supplier performance, and using data to drive improvements and informed decision-making
  • Effective communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building abilities
  • Strong negotiation and leadership skills to manage suppliers and contracts
  • Robust understanding of project execution
  • Experience in identifying and mitigating risks within the supplier relationship to ensure supply chain resilience
  • Proactive with ability to raise awareness of contract activities that impact a project
  • Diplomacy, tact, and professional presentation in all interactions
  • Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Your Experience:
  • University Degree in Business or related field of study
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience within contracts and procurement roles
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or similar designation an asset
