Job description
Seeking a professional and highly organized Administrative Assistant to join our team. Oversee administrative and benefits functions of a small office and forestry operation. Safety background an asset. Work with Office Manager, logging supervisor and other operational employees.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant includes but are not limited to the following:
- Scan, copy and file documents
- Maintains office filing system for personnel records, and payables
- Assists in preparing payroll by organizing timecards
- Administer benefits programs and assist in month end report of benefits
- Organization of other operational materials
- Willing to be trained in safety practices as related to the forest industry to oversee safety functions of operations
- Maintains confidentiality regarding all employee personnel and organizational matters of a confidential nature
- Maintains Policies and Procedures Manuals as directed and as per regulations.
- Keeps equipment and all work areas clean and arranges for maintenance of machines and work areas as required.
- Provide support for Supervisors and Management Team
- Performs admin duties including receiving visitors, providing information, and directing to appropriate areas, answering telephone, receiving, and relaying messages.
- Company projects and reporting support
- Support/vacation relief
- Performs other duties as requested
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2 years of office admin experience
- Safety experience an asset
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) with strong skills in MS Excel and Word
- Able to calculate and manage accounting figures and financial records accurately.
- Detail oriented, with strong data entry and proof-reading skills
- Excellent organizational, prioritizing, and time management skills
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Willing and able to work as part of a team or independently
- Comfortable with change: able to adapt to changing priorities when needed
- Able to take on and manage a variety of tasks and projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates a positive and a professional attitude
