ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST
Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
Job Overview:
The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate processing of vendor invoices
and timely uploading of Proof of Delivery (POD) into the company’s system. This role requires strong
problem-solving abilities, a commitment to delivering exceptional internal and external customer service,
and a proactive approach to driving continuous improvements within the Accounts Payable function.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the complete accounts payable cycle, including printing and reviewing vendor
invoices, validating charges, resolving discrepancies through communication with vendors and
internal teams, and ensuring timely payment processing. - Review each incoming invoice to determine if a POD is required, and ensure it is submitted along
with the invoice. - Proactively monitor orders missing POD, and follow up with carriers via email and phone call to
obtain the required documentation. - Strive to enhance efficiency while consistently seeking opportunities for process improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- In-progress post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting, business, economics or a related
field; OR minimum 2 years’ experience working in customer service / office environment. - Working knowledge (intermediate) of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Intermediate Excel.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously with ease.
