We are seeking a part-time Academic Director to provide strategic oversight, maintain academic quality, and mentor our teachers—without the demands of a full-time schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, evaluation, and continuous improvement of K–12 English curriculum, ensuring alignment with academic standards, student needs, and the organization’s strategic goals.
- Oversee onboarding and training programs for new teachers, ensuring they are equipped with the skills, resources, and methodologies to deliver high-quality instruction.
- Provide quality assurance through program reviews, teacher evaluations, and student feedback analysis.
- Develop and oversee professional development initiatives for teaching staff.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic growth, new program launches, and technology integration.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Phd degree in English, Education, Curriculum Design, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in education, with at least 3 years in an academic leadership role—preferably in a private school setting.
- Strong understanding of Ontario curriculum standards, educational best practices and private high school system.
- Strong expertise in pedagogy, curriculum development, and assessment.
- Experience with AP (Advanced Placement) and IB (International Baccalaureate) curriculum development or oversight is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving startup environment.

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
Expected hours: Approx. 10 - 20 hrs per week
