Lakeshore Animal Clinic is a family-owned hospital established in beautiful Kelowna, B.C. since 1969. Dr. Wilson leads a team of veterinary professionals who cohesively share a mission of delivering care to pets and their people with skill and compassion.
We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a veterinary hospital with a V.A. certification to join our team in a full-time capacity ASAP!
- Assist veterinarians with patient handling and restraint.
- Answer client inquiries, phone calls and schedule appointments in Avimark.
- Prepare and dispense medications efficiently and safely including doing quick math calculations to determine dosage.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all areas of the hospital.
- Assist with ordering supplies and stocking food shelves.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills in managing paperwork and records.
- A minimum of 2 years prior experience as a VA in a veterinary hospital
- Experience with Avimark is a bonus
- Ability to handle and restraint patients safely (dogs and cats)
- Exceptional customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of patient records and safety
Wage rage, depending on experience, is $19.00-25.00/hour. We also offer a comprehensive extended benefit package, staff discounts, free parking, long weekends off, Christmas break and a fantastic work atmosphere!
Our clinic is across the street from the beach. We will often see our staff go paddle-boarding on their lunch, take a jog on the Greenway, or go for a swim at the local pool 2 minutes away. A V.A. certificate and/or equivalent work experience are necessary. We will not respond to candidates without the minimum certification and/or experience requirements.
