We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tile installation and a keen eye for detail. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for laying tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces, ensuring that they are aligned properly and securely adhered. This role requires both technical skills and creativity to create aesthetically pleasing designs while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Measure and cut tiles to fit designated areas using hand tools and power tools.
- Prepare surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, leveling, and applying adhesives as needed.
- Lay tiles according to design specifications, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
- Apply grout and caulk to seal joints between tiles for a finished look.
- Read and interpret blueprints and project plans to determine layout requirements.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as carpenters and general contractors, to ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in tile laying or flooring installation is preferred.
- Familiarity with caulking techniques and materials is advantageous.
- Experience as a maintenance person or carpenter is a plus, providing a well-rounded skill set for the role.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand technical drawings is essential.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
