Description of Duties and Responsibilities
The Shift Supervisor reports directly to the Program Manager and provides on shift leadership in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Centre.
- Interacts with the clients in a caring, non-judgmental manner
- Supervises and trains team members in their functional duties
- Reports to the Senior Manager on problems arising with team functioning and occurrences of a serious nature involving clients
- Responsible for collaborating with the nurse regarding medical needs of clients
- Responsible for ensuring the lock-up of client money and valuables
- Ensues that records on status of detox clients are complete and up-to-date
- Coordinates with the Addictions Worker to ensure that requests for treatment are addressed
- Supervises disinfectant, clean-up and hygienic procedures and assists with implementation of these procedures as required
- Participates in general staff meetings and Supervisor's meetings
- Compiles daily statistics
- Provides written evaluation of staff members as required
- Conducts shift exchange meetings with oncoming staff
- Records daily attendance of team members
- Delegates responsibilities to Support Worker II's
- Any other related task or responsibility assigned by the Program Manager
Position Requirements
- Willing to work within the team concept of leadership
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of addictions
- Demonstrated level of literacy and communication skills sufficient for job responsibilities
- Diploma or Degree in the human services field preferred
- Current and Clear Police with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Current First Aid, CPR, AED Certification
