About the Role
As a member of the team, the student will support the function in overseeing the Corporate Privacy program implementation across our portfolio companies, working collaboratively with Data Privacy Officers and equivalent. Additionally, the student will be supporting the regulatory compliance and follow-up activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of compliance assessments.
- Assist in the unification/consolidation and reporting of privacy implementation follow-up activities across Brookfield Portfolio Companies
- Support Corporate compliance on identify, communicate, and document privacy risks, privacy policy gaps as part of corporate oversight
- Stay informed of relevant regulatory and industry changes, trends, and best practices
- Support the execution of privacy assessments.
- Conduct interviews and document meeting minutes.
- Other Compliance activities as the need may be.
Knowledge Required
- Working towards a degree in Business, Law, legal, para-legal or related discipline.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- General Privacy Principles and relevant compliance standards
- General understanding of Canadian and international privacy laws
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and effectively manage time.
- Collaborative and able to foster good working relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in productivity software tools (such as Microsoft Office 365 tools - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as analytics and reporting/dashboard tools (PowerBI)
- Strong analytical skills
- Problem solver and innovative.
Note: Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Brookfield’s identity. This position requires the employee to be on-site for a minimum of 4 days to perform most effectively.
