About the role
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior HRIS Administrator/HR Generalist to lead and support the successful implementation of talent workflows within our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) while preserving full adherence to data management protocols and contribute to a strong employee experience at each step of the employment lifecycle. The role additionally provides hands-on support across core HR talent processes as needed. This hybrid role blends strong technical expertise with generalist responsibilities to ensure the HR function operates efficiently and appropriately scales as the company continues to grow.
Please note that this role can be remote within Canada or Hybrid if within commuting distance of our facility in Burnaby BC.
What you'll do
HRIS Administration and Optimization (~70%)
- Project manages the end-to-end implementation of new HRIS modules and upgrades to existing ones; partner within HR and cross-functionally with IT, Finance, Legal, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful deployment of new modules and/or enhancements based on identified business /user requirements.
- Develop and maintain robust data integrity protocols, including regular audits, data governance frameworks, and secure migration strategies to ensure accuracy, security, and global compliance with local jurisdictions.
- Leverage AI-powered tools and automation within the HRIS to enhance employee and manager self-service capabilities and streamline task flow.
- Analyze, refine, and document HRIS workflows to align with the system optimization roadmap, user needs, and evolving business requirements.
- Champion change management and deliver stakeholder training to ensure early adoption, drive system utilization, and maximize return on investment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to address system-related concerns efficiently.
- Support internal and external compliance reporting, partner with auditors, and contribute to broader HR risk mitigation strategies.
- Support adjacent HR technologies, integrating and optimizing tools that work alongside the HRIS to improve the overall people tech ecosystem.
- Serve as primary interface with Rippling, ensuring the system is fully leveraged across modules and functionalities.
- Partner with and support Sr. Manager, Workforce Analytics to ensure data is available, accurate, and actionable for strategic HR and business insights.
HR Generalist Support (~30%)
- Provide hands-on support with general inquiries, escalating complex matters as applicable.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Maintain and audit employee records, role-based documentation for access to employee information for accurate access to HRIS data.
- Participates in the material preparation of internal and external audits and support compliance reporting globally (e.g., E-Verify, I-9, SOC2 and SOX, etc.).
- Provide benefits administration support as needed, including open enrollment, Cobra packages and monthly bill reconciliation.
- Act as a trusted point of contact to employees and managers, promoting a positive employee experience.
About You
- Preferred degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Information Technology and 3-5 years of experience in an HRIS implementation/ administration role, paired with HR generalist hands-on support.
- Demonstrated implementation experience across multiple HRIS platforms (e.g. Workday, Rippling, SAP, UKG, etc.) in companies with a global footprint and in high growth mode.
- Experience with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HR talent processes and best practices.
- Exceptional attention to details, with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong project management skills from system requirements gathering to building implementation timelines and status update reporting across multiple projects/initiatives.
- Ability to assess and recommend effective ways to incorporate AI technologies to automate repetitive/routine tasks.
- Advanced Excel skills and data analysis tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- High Tech, Bio Tech, Games industry sector experience preferred.
