Main Functions:
Working at Blue Heron Adventures, Shop Staff will interact with tour participants first hand. They will provide a warm and welcoming experience from the moment a customer begins getting suited up into dive or snorkel gear. In this role team members will bring the fun by rallying participants to get excited for their chance to explore what lies under the water’s surface. In a collaborative team environment you will work with the travelling public who wish to visit this beautiful natural UNESCO Biosphere environment, including two of Canada’s National Parks.
Job Duties:
Shop Staff perform some or all of the following duties:
- Assisting with back of house duties including suiting up customers in rental gear
- Keeping suits and all equipment organized and hung out to dry as well as ‘flipped’ as needed
- Performing minor general repairs to equipment as needed
- General cleaning and organization of shop and back areas
- Identifying any shortages of equipment and informing management about such needs
- Assisting customers with removal of gear and organizing for sanitization and preparation for the next tour or next day
- Play your part to ensure Blue Heron fulfills its waste management and sustainability mission
- Perform other duties as require

Working Conditions:
- Workweeks are 5 or 6 days, Monday – Sunday, 6-12 hours per day
- Split shift and evening shift availability is a requirement
- Shop Staff are entitled to a ½ hour unpaid lunch
- Shop Staff are frequently exposed to noise and a regular flow of people.
- Shop Staff should come to work prepared to be moved to a boat shift if the need should arise.
- Shop Staff will be assigned changing priorities and could include changing roles with little to no notice during shifts
- Shop Staff may have the opportunity to work overtime, with paid compensation

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $17.20-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week
